Protect // Stop Notice

When: Approximately 10 days after sending the Notice of Intent to Lien, and while still within the lien period.

Placing a Stop Notice on a job is another key mechanism to prevent a General Contractor delaying or reneging on payment of a contract. As a lien ties up the property, a Stop Notice ties up the money that is changing hands. The only way for the Stop to be cleared is if you are paid in full. Although typically a lengthy and time consuming process requiring the assistance of a lawyer, CSA’s exclusive service vastly simplifies and expedites the perilous process required to file and apply a Stop Notice.
