A Notice of Completion, or Job Completion is filed when a particular job has been completed. Relevant to payment collections primarily because if a contractor has filed a completion it can drastically decrease the period of time a sub contractor can effect a Lien on a job site.

An Intent to Lien/Stop is an incredibly effective way to expedite payment on a contract, often without an actual Mechanics Lien or a Stop. Carefully drafted by CSA's legal team, CSA exclusive Intent to Lien/Stop has evolved over 15 years and has a past proven record.

A claim created by State statute for the purpose of securing priority of payment of the price or value of work performed and materials furnished in erecting, improving, or repairing a building or other structure, and as such attached to to the land as well as buildings and improvements erected thereon. Such lien covers materialsmen, tradesmen, suppliers, and the like, who furnish services, labor, or materials on construction or improvement of private property. Mechanics' Lien does not apply to Public Works Projects (see Stop Notice).

An alternative to the mechanics' lien remedy that allows contractors, suppliers and workers to make and enforce a claim against the construction lender, and in many instances, the owner, for a portion of the undisbursed construction loan proceeds. Stop Notice claim applies to both Public and Private Jobs.
